Microwave dissolution for elemental analysis by ICP-MS
Malin Johansson (BSc thesis)

ICP-OES and/or ICP-MS are common analytical techniques for the determination of major, trace, and rare earth elements in igneous rocks.  This project aims to establish a microwave dissolution methodology for widespread application within the department, which will allow us to generate full geochemical analyses in-house.  These analyses will be used to interpret the genesis and tectonic setting of igneous rocks, a need common to most TMRG investigations.
